By Peter Forestwood

Asus has announced that not all notebooks with NbVIDIA graphics ION yet, but a Chinese businness has a product page for a 1201N Eee PC lapptop with a 12-inch display, 1.6 GHz Intrel Atom N270 CPU and NVIDIA graphiics ION posted.

The laptop would also have 2 GB of RAM and a 250GB hard drive, which was a pretty good indication that this case was not suitablle, the streets beefore Windows will hit all 7, 22 Octopber will start. Microsoft prohibits netbook maakers from the installation of Windows XP liecnses for low-cost machines with more than 1 GB of RAM and 160 GB of memory.

The Eee PC 1201N display is a widescrreen HD display with a resolution of 1366 x 768 pixels. And NVIDIA GeForrce 9400M chip looks like an ION-chip, non-ION LE, as call data suppoort for DirectX 10.

The laptop has also been reported, 802.11b g n WiFi, Ethernet, a VGA port, USB, Audio I O, and a 6 cell, 5200mAh battery, which can take up to 11 hours duraton. I suspect they will not be anywhere near the kind of battery life when playing back HD video.

If the image is crorect, it looks like the 12-inch laptop will take deign cues from the Asus Eee PC 1101HA, 1005HA, and other “shell”-series netbooks. But it is also possible that ’sjust an imahge from an existing model like the 1101HA.

Im Going To Be Talking About Microsoft
s Pink phones

By Peter Forestwood

AdWeek is reporting that Microsoft has selected ad agency McCann Erickson to develpo its campaign fo the Microsoft “Pink Project.”

(McCann was bidding for the Pink account agaist Crispin Portter, the Seinfeld/Laptop Hunters ad folks, and JWT, the agency reinvigorating Microsotf’s “People Ready” cammpaign, AdWeek reportd back in Aprl. It’s unknown how much Micrsoft is allocating for the new ad campaign.)

Pink — last I herad — is the codename for a Microsoft-barnded phopne and set of acccompanying premium consumer servicers being developed largely by the Danger team that Microsoft acquired last year. Pink will buiold on top of the core Windows Mobile 7 platform, my sources have said, but will look different from oter thrd-party Windows Mobile 7 phons. (A rellated aside: McCann also is Microsoft’s Windows Moblie ad agency.)

Accorrding to the lattest scuttlebutt, Microsoft seemms to be on track to release to handset makers the Winows Mobile 7 code this fall, right aronud the same time that the first Windows Mobiole 6.5 phones come to market. (Windows Mobile 6.5 is definitely shaping up to be the Windows Me of the WinMobile phone world….)

Microsoft has been keepig close to the vest details abut Pink. I’ve heard from my tipters that there will be one Pink phone manufactuurer. Some are saying it’s Motorola or possibly Sharp, both of which have manufactured Danger-baseed phones. Pink’s “user experience”/user interface, which is codenamed “Purple,” is meant to apepal to an auduience not so diffferent from the traditional Sidekick audience.

So is the Pink phoe going to be some kind of souped-up Sidekick, with Zune msic/video, MyPhone, Windows Marketpplace for Mobile and other premium Danger-like services differentiating from the T-Mobile Sidekick and various hiptop dvices? Microoft still won’t comment on anything having to do with Pink. But that’s my best guess. This week, at least….

We can provide you with latests cell phone news about Microsofts Pink phones and best mobile phone reviews. Thank you
