These days, email marketing is considered as one of the most useful methods in promoting either an online or offline business. This type of marketing allows marketers to obtain potential customers and keep existing customers as well as repeat buyers. For the most part, businesses would want to extend their operations to great lengths especially in satisfying existing customers. Thus, marketers make use of an email marketing program that is suitable to their businesses.
Many successful businesses make use of a specific email marketing program to ameliorate the quality and productivity of their marketing mix. Once marketers come up with an appropriate and efficient marketing program for their business, they would be able to encourage current customers to come back as repeat buyers. Marketers have several options to choose from when it comes to implementing email marketing. This is whether marketers keep in touch with customers through sending special discounts or promotions or creating regular newsletters.
Marketers can take advantage of the benefits of email programs as long as they know how to implement it correctly. For instance , before marketers send their emails they should make sure their customers agree to receive such emails. Marketers should have the consent of their customers to send emails so they would not be considered spammers. Spammers are those that send emails illegally to get information from customers.
Some of the benefits of an efficient email marketing program include the following:
- Allows marketers to keep their products, services, and/or brands visible to customers - For instance, when a customer purchases from an online shop and does not hear from such shop again, it is most likely that he/she would not remember the website. Furthermore, it is highly possible that the customer would not recommend the online shop to others. Through making use of an efficient email marketing campaign with an appropriate program, customers are automatically sent with newsletters and emails for continuous promotions and offers by online marketers.
- Keeps online marketers in touch with existing or current customers in a convenient manner An email marketing campaign with an efficient program encourages customers to become repeat buyers; thus, establishing loyalty. Then again , online marketers should ensure that the content of the newsletters and/or emails sent to customers are valuable and satisfies the needs and wants of customers. More so, online marketers can add special offers to their emails and newsletters while still encouraging customers to keep on buying. This is true as long as the contents are valuable and pertinent.
- Allows addition of special discounts to existing customers to encourage repeat purchases An efficient email marketing program helps in encouraging existing and even past customers to buy from online marketers specifically if the program offers discounts, free shipping, and other freebies. Existing and past customers would feel valued and special when they receive such offers. Consequently, an email marketing campaign with an efficient program combined with strategic planning could lead a business to success.

Google Buys ITA Software To Shake Up Online Booking
By Timmy Vic
Search engine giant Google took the travel industry by storm last week with a $700 million purchase of ITA Software, a flight-information software company.
The multi-million-dollar deal would not only put Google in direct competition with Web sites such as Kayak and Cheapflights.com, but it potentially could transform the online travel industry.
For several months, the rumor mill had been churning with news of Google’s interest in ITA, causing the travel industry’s key players to scramble to position themselves.
Several travel Web sites, including Kayak.com, threw in competing bids to buy the Boston-based ITA, but were outbid by Google.
Google’s purchase would give the company control of ITA’s ubiquitous flight pricing software, making Google a force to be reckoned with in the travel world.
ITA offers flight times, availabilities and prices to airlines and Web sites that include: TripAdvisor, Bing, Hotwire, Orbitz, Continental, American Airlines, and Alitalia.
Google says that their purchase of ITA will make it easier for consumers to find flight information online and give consumers more choices.
According to Google’s boss, Eric Schmidt, Google’s goal is to use ITA’s information to foster innovation in the travel industry rather than to sell tickets. Schmidt says that Google is also creating flight tools unlike any in existence that will change the way online travel works.
The purchase, however, would turn Google into a fierce competitor in the travel meta-search industry and could drive a stake through traditional, non-Internet flight booking outlets.
US regulatory authorities are also likely to keep a close eye on Google’s new deal to ensure that it is fair to competitors and consumers.
Though Google says it wants to preserve competition in the travel industry and has no plans to lock out competitors, only time will tell what this acquisition really means for online flight bookings.

What you must avoid when developing your own custom newsletters
By troyduff281
So you have decided to make your own custom newsletters eh? Well, printing custom newsletters is a simple enough task, all things considered. Especially in todays world, even novices can more or less handle themselves properly in designing and printing a newsletter, because of all those powerful tools that automates and quickens most of the complicated processes. So, it should be easy enough for you yourself to design something decent and workable for your newsletter printer.
However, just in case you stray a bit with proper newsletter design, you might want to read about a few important things to avoid in printing and designing newsletters. It pays to be sure you know what you are really doing right? So read on below. I have listed down the most important items that you should know and avoid in newsletter printing. Remember them well and your custom newsletters should turn out great.
Uninspired newsletter name Right at the outset of designing your color newsletters, you must try to avoid creating an uninspired newsletter name. Many people think that it is not really important to develop a great name for custom newsletters, so they name it usually in a boring way. They throw away words like gazette, inquirer, daily, and any other newspaper type names.
While those may work in most cases, they wont make your custom newsletters really customized and eye-catching. You should try to think of your newsletter name very carefully since it will define the identity and impact of your newsletters to readers. So avoid those common names, practice some serious discernment for your newsletter names and come up with something that really is unique and very interesting to people.
Boring descriptive headlines Another thing that you should avoid in creating your newsletters is that boring descriptive headline. These are the typical headlines that just state what has happened, but has not subtly communicated the implications of the event.
So as a simple example, a neophyte will make a headline like, Company X releases product. This kind of headline is simple, descriptive and boring. To make this really work for a custom newsletter you may want something like, New product helps you do stuff faster!. By stating the implications, you can attract more readers to read your newsletters. So avoid those descriptive headlines and practice a little creativity.
Long articles Of course, you will definitely want to avoid long articles. People really do not have the patience to read long newsletter articles, since they know it must be news, and it must be short. They do not have time to read a novella in a newsletter and they will typically lose interest in a long feature article after the 1000th word.
Black and white images You might also want to avoid using black and white images. I know it makes your newsletter printing a little bit cheaper to print in black and white, but it also sacrifices a lot of the impact of your images. People can hardly relate nowadays to black and white images on a custom newsletter since typically those convey little emotion and interest. So always go for full color printing of newsletters and avoid black and white at all costs.
Cheap paper materials Finally, you should always try to avoid cheap paper materials for newsletter printing. If you see how most readers handle newspapers and custom newsletters, you will know that lots of people are pretty rough. It is best to go for decent quality paper materials that are thick and heavy to make sure that your newsletters last for several weeks at the most. It might get a bit expensive, but it is all worth it to be able to communicate your newsletters in a presentable manner. So always avoid cheap paper materials.
Great! Now you are all set for newsletter printing. With all the possible problems laid out for you, you should be able to deal with them and avoid them with little troubles. Good Luck!
